Recently the issue whether it is better to have broad knowledge of many academic subjects than to specialize in one specific subject has been brought into focus. Some people who object to it argues that specialize in one specific subject is more realistic, while other people who favor the statement contends that broad knowledge would bring about more colorful lives. In my opinion， specializing in one specific subject is a much better choice.
First, everybody have limited time, most of people do not have enough time for gaining broad knowledge. It is not until we concentrate on only one subject that can we be more effective. Also, if we just aim at specializing in one specific subject, we can save a lot of time for other significant things in life and make our life better. For example, we can donate our time on doing exercise, so we can be healthier and have better body shape. We can also spend time on appreciating art, such as music and painting, to improve our taste.
Moreover, there is no denying the fact that specializing in one specific subject is more economic. Imaging that, if all of people want to have broad knowledge, it would require more teachers, more books and more other resources and all of these need money, for that reason more money need to invest.
Admittedly, having broad knowledge of many academic subjects can expand our horizons. However, specializing in one special subject can save time and money which overshadows the advantages that broad knowledge can bring about
Therefore, I reinforce my inclination that it is better to specialize in one specific subject.
